Thessaloniki at a glance
Greece's second city lies on the Thermaic Gulf, with the sea on one side and the hills of the Ano Poli on the other. 2,300 years of history sit right next to cafés, markets and a big student scene.
The centre is easy on foot: from the White Tower along the waterfront to Aristotelous Square, up through the old town and back down to Ladadika for the evening.

The airport (SKG) is about 15 km from the centre. OASTH buses 01X (day) and 01N (night) take you into town.
Getting around
Buses run all over the city, and the metro has connected the centre since November 2024.

How am I welcomed?+
Show your QR at the venue, the host scans it, done. Every place welcomes you once.

What do I actually get?+
At every place, a Friend's Gift is waiting for you, agreed in writing by the host. What it is stands on every card in the City Guide, for example a dish on the house or the second ticket free.
Can I redeem the Friend's Gift on my own?+
Not at places with the BringAFriend-Offer: there it only works when you come as two, for example two main courses, the cheaper one is free. Some go_local Specials say so in their wording too. Everywhere else you can come alone. Your companion does not need their own go_local+.
What if a place does not honor my Friend's Gift?+
Then you get your money back. Write to hello@golocalcities.com with the place and the date. Every Friend's Gift is agreed in writing with the host, so we can check it. At places with the BringAFriend-Offer this applies when you came as two.
Do I need an app?+
No. go_local+ opens in your browser. You can save it to your home screen, so your QR is always one tap away.
What does it cost?+
